AS always, there is quite a range of material in this catalogue. Some of it is Asian and cross-cultural. There are two splendid Mughal objects, as well as one from British India. The Northwest Coast is represented by a superb piece. Works by two of America's greatest artists, Gilbert Stuart and Thomas Eakins, are included. The Black silhouette is but one of several African-American items in our inventory. An unexpected delight is the splendid portrait relief of Emile Zola. For autographs, there is a book with a presentation inscription from a Hawaiian king, a photograph signed by John Singer Sargent, and a Toulouse-Lautrec lithograph actually signed by him. We know we haven't satisfied every taste or interest by a long shot, but we think there are pieces to whet a considerable number of appetites.
